Important to understand:

Inhaling a lower amount of hydrogen gas per minute cannot be matched by a high dose simply by extending the inhalation time of the low dose! It seems reasonable to expect that if you simply make the period of a lower flow rate such as 600ml/min twice as long as the period of a higher flow rate such as our 1200ml/min this would produce the same effect. However this is not supported by physiological data and Henry's Law.

The concentration of hydrogen dissolved in the blood (expressed in μmol/l) is dependent on the inhaled partial pressure - not just on time. An inhalation of 600ml/min (3.6% H2) will never achieve the same tissue saturation or blood concentration as an inhalation of 1200ml/min (7.2% H2). No matter how long it is inhaled. As shown in validated models and studies, each ml/min (or % H2) concentration eventually reaches a separate equilibrium level in tissues and blood.
